MasterGraphics Celebrates 60th Anniversary in 2009

Mar. 17, 2009 - MADISON, Wis. - MasterGraphics, one of the Midwest's leading providers of technology solutions for the manufacturing, building, civil and education industries, celebrates 60years of innovation and digital imaging.

Since its inception on May 1, 1949, the local, privately owned company has evolved from a staff of five employees based in downtown Madison, offering blueprinting services to the architectural and engineering industry (then called "Master Blue Print") to a full-service professional solutions firm serving client needs with CAD software solutions, training & e-learning, support programs, digital printing solutions and supplies, digital imaging and documentation services, with more than 100 professionals in offices in Madison, Waukesha, Appleton, Rolling Meadows, Ill., and Minnetonka, Minn.

Key company highlights include:

  • In the early 1980's, the advent of the PC and affordable software led Master Blue Print to recognize the potential benefits of CAD (computer animated design) software for our clients. The company opened CAD division, selling Point Line Cadd.
  • During the 1990's, the company merged with two local CAD dealers and secured Autodesk certification for selling AutoCAD software statewide. In 1993, Master Blue Print changed its name to MasterGraphics. Shortly thereafter, the company introduced CAD Training and Support Centers.
  • Current president, Michael Wilkes, joined MasterGraphics in 2002, implementing a major shift in strategic direction to focus on managing design data.
  • Earned third PSP (Premier Service Provider) designation from software giant Autodesk International in 2006.

"Providing superior services and support to our customers has been central to MasterGraphics since its inception," says Michael Wilkes, president of MasterGraphics, Inc.  "We continually strive to anticipate our clients' evolving needs and keep them profitable and competitive well into the future."

To help celebrate its landmark anniversary, MasterGraphics is offering 60 current or former students of the MasterAcademy Professional Learning Centers an opportunity to take an Autodesk Associate-level certification exam for free (a savings of $50).  This "Certification Day" is scheduled for the morning of Thursday April 16th, 2009.
