Participating schools place an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education with dynamic pre-engineering courses that employ rigorous project-based curricula. More than 500,000 students at nearly 3,500 schools have taken part in PLTW classes. PLTW hopes to reach more than 1,000,000 students each year by growing to 10,000 implementations by the 2015-16 school year.
