Autodesk 'Simplified Pricing' begins March 16, 2010 - should you upgrade before?
After March 16, 2010, Autodesk will introduce Simplified Pricing for the purchase of software upgrades.
Today, the price to upgrade to the current software release depends on which product release you own. After March 16, 2010, upgrades from any of the three previous software releases to the current release will be one flat price—50% of a full license. For many people, this will mean an increase in the cost to upgrade to the latest version of Autodesk software. The last day to upgrade from Autodesk® 2007, 2008, and 2009 products with the current pricing model is March 15, 2010.
This streamlined upgrade pricing model is being introduced to better match the needs and buying behaviors of the majority of customers. A significant number of our customers have already moved to Autodesk® Subscription, and only a small percentage of our customers who do not have Autodesk Subscription purchase upgrades on an annual basis.
Autodesk Subscription has always been more cost-effective than traditional upgrades. The new upgrade policy further reinforces the benefit of Autodesk Subscription as the most convenient and cost-effective way for customers to keep their Autodesk software up-to-date. With Autodesk Subscription, customers receive benefits such as automatic upgrades, budget predictability, more flexible license terms, and more.
If you have been considering an upgrade to the latest release of Autodesk software, we urge you to talk to your MasterGraphics Account Manager to see if you could save money by upgrading before March 16, 2010. Give us a call at (800) 873.7238 to learn more.

Autodesk Subscription upgrades now delivered via internet download
Starting in 2010, software upgrades for Autodesk Subscription customers will be delivered online, as a download, instead of a box shipment. By downloading new product releases, you can begin using the latest software as soon as it is released.
Benefits of Autodesk Subscription Download include:
- Immediate Access. The upgrade is available on demand—it's there when you're ready.
- Peace of mind. If anything ever happens to your computer, you always have an online backup that is available 24/7, wherever there is an Internet connection.
- Responsible alternative. It's the environmentally friendly choice—no printing, packaging or shipping.
- License control. Contract Managers or Software Coordinators can provide download access to end users around the world, without having to host the files locally or distribute files internally; or, if preferred, end user access can be prevented altogether.
When the download is operational, and your subscription is ready to be up upgraded, we will notify you directly with the necessary information. To learn more about Autodesk Subscription Download, or if you have questions, contact your MasterGraphics Account Manager at (800) 873.7238 today.
