Autodesk to discontinue individual licenses of 3ds Max and Maya software
Autodesk has announced that individual seats (licenses) of their 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya software will be discontinued beginning with the release of the 2013 Autodesk software lineup.
Instead, these software products will be available only through the suite packages, such as Autodesk Entertainment Suite. In addition, subscription for these individual packages will be discontinued after 2013 fullfillment. Those customers currently on subscription WILL get their fulfillment of the new 2013 products, but this will be the last year they will automatically get the new software.
Moving forward, Autodesk is encouraging customers to upgrade 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya to the Entertainment Creation Suite. Autodesk will offer upgrade pricing to Entertainment Creation Suite at a cost of 50% off the price of a new seats.
