Levels of Certification
Currently, Autodesk offers two levels of certification for user knowledge and skill validation:
Certified Associate Exam
The Certified Associate exam is the first level of certification consisting of approximately 30 questions that assess your knowledge of the tools, features, and common tasks.
Certified Professional Exam
The Professional Certification exam is a performance based test. Performance based testing is defined as testing by doing, by performing tasks. The Certified Professional exam is comprised of 20 - 30 questions.
Note: To earn the credential of Certified Professional, you must pass the Certified Associate and Professional exam. It is recommended to pass the Associate exam first.

- Enhanced Skills and Recognition-Autodesk Certification provides validation of your skills and knowledge along with industry recognition of your achievements.
- Electronic Certificate-Once certified, you receive access to an electronic certificate suitable for printing and framing.
- Certification Logo-After passing the certification exam, you receive the official Autodesk Certification logo for use on business cards, résumés, and letterhead, identifying you as Autodesk Certified.
- Listing on Autodesk in the Certified Users Database-Once certified, you can choose to have your contact information and certifications listed in Autodesk's publically available database. This is an excellent way to demonstrate your certification status.
Questions and Answers
What software are certification exams available for?
Certifications are available for many Autodesk 2012 products, including AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit Architecture, and AutoCAD Architecture software applications.
Once granted, how long does the certification last?
Certification validates your knowledge and skills using a specific version of an Autodesk application. Although certification for a particular version of an application never expires, certification is not considered current unless you have passed the latest recertification examination, and the full examination for the prior release.
How much does it cost to take the examination and how do I pay?

Where can I take the exam?
You can take the exam at any MasterGraphics - MasterAcademy training facilities www.mastergraphics.com/locations
How do I purchase and schedule my session?
The exam can be purchased and scheduled at http://autodesk.starttest.com. At this site you will create a profile, write down this information as you will use this login information when taking the exam. To schedule an exam for a specific date call MasterAcademy training department at (800) 873-7238.
Are there any prerequisites?
A minimum of 200 hours of hands-on experience are recommended before attempting an Associate exam and 400 hours before attempting a Professional exam. MasterAcademy also recommends completing a Level 1 training class in prior to the exam.
How should I prepare for the exam?
Review Autodesk Exam Objectives at www.autodesk.com/certification. These objectives are derived from the Autodesk Official Training Courseware-Essentials books which can be purchased at http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=8298082&siteID=123112
Autodesk Assessment Tests assess your knowledge of the functions and tools in Autodesk software.
Professional Practice Tests simulate the Autodesk 2012 software Professional Certification exam. These tests are for self-assessment and practice only; there is no passing score or associated credential or certificate. These tests are non-proctored, available 24 - 7 to your desktop at http://autodesk.starttest.com
What should I bring to the exam?
Bring a drivers license as it will be used to verify your identity. Books, notes, calculators or other electronic devices are not allowed.
What happens if I do not pass?
If you do not pass, you will receive a Diagnostic Score Report that indicates areas for improvement. For a fee you may then retake the examination after 7 days. You can take the examination three times a year. If you do not pass after three attempts, you must wait until one year has passed from the first attempt before retaking an examination.
