Summary
In this class you will learn to learn how to design, model, and make construction documents for a piping system used in commercial, institutional, and waste water environments using AutoCAD MEP. This class uses hands-on exercises to learn how to lay out systems that start as simple placeholders and grow in intelligence as the design matures through schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases of a project. You will also discover how to make construction documents that meet the demanding requirements of the building construction industry.
Who Should Attend
This class is designed for new users of AutoCAD MEP focusing on the piping discipline. Design professionals from large, medium, and small engineering and architectural engineering firms will benefit from this course. Contractors can also benefit. It is recommended for commercial and institutional design and construction.
Objectives
The primary objective of this courseware is to teach students the basic functions necessary for creating a piping plan using the piping portion of AutoCAD MEP.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Creating schematic diagrams and isometric schematics.
- Working with spaces and ceiling grids.
- Place piping equipment, pipes, accessories, fittings and risers.
- Checking your pipe connections and detecting interferences.
- Working with sections, elevations, annotations, and schedules.
- Outputting construction documents.
