Summary
This class is designed for the new AutoCAD MEP user who requires fundamental training in the Plumbing module. It incorporates the features, tools, and techniques for creating and editing plumbing designs with AutoCAD MEP.
Hands-on exercises throughout the courseware explore how to create 3D production drawings while designing in 2D.
Who Should Attend
This class is designed for the new user of AutoCAD MEP focusing on the plumbing discipline. Design professionals from large, medium, and small engineering and architectural engineering firms will benefit from this course. It is recommended for commercial and institutional design and construction.
Objectives
The primary objective of this course is to teach students the basic tools and techniques necessary for the creation of professional plumbing plans using AutoCAD MEP.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Drawing a schematic diagram and isometrics.
- Sizing plumbing systems and checking plumbing connections.
- Adding and modifying labels and tags.
- Adding and updating schedules.
- Placing plumbing equipment, plumbing lines, valves and fittings. Outputting construction documents.

Prerequisites
It is required that the student have a working knowledge of:
- Microsoft® Windows® 2000, XP, or Vista.

Proficient
use of AutoCAD or AutoCAD Architecture on a version no more than 3 releases
back.
- AutoCAD Update training is recommended for those on an older AutoCAD release.
- AutoCAD Level 1 training is recommended for non-AutoCAD users.

AutoCAD
skills required, but not limited to:
- Drawing Lines, Arcs and Circles
- Snap and Ortho modes
- Polar and Object Snap tracking
- Dynamic Input and UCS
- Copy, Mirror, Align, Array and Trim commands
- Importing in Blocks
- Design or engineering experience is a plus.
