Field Service Engineer

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a hands-on, technical role focused on industrial 3D printers:

• Install and set up 3D printing systems at customer sites
• Diagnose and repair complex 3D printers, and post-processing equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Train customers on how to use and maintain printers
• Maintain knowledge of products and technical developments, as well as required training and certifications
• Manage service logs and coordinate with dispatch

This position will work remotely in the Northwest Wisconsin (Eau Claire area preferred), covering WI & MN territory.  Daily travel and occasional overnight stays are required.  A company vehicle will be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum Experience
  • Associate's degree or trade school certification
  • Position requires a current and valid Driver's License with no restrictions
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position
• Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, configuration, installation, and repair of electronic systems and computers, as well as a solid electro/mechanical aptitude.
  • Requires skills in organization, problem-solving, attention to detail, and customer relations
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers and act in an advisory capacity.
  • Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in the business environment and a commitment to professionally represent M5D.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines with multiple interruptions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Travel required: must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

• Additional Skills
  • Moderate physical activity is required by handling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, and standing.
  • Proficient with common hand tools and measurement tools including calipers, gauge blocks, multi-meters, etc.
  • Understanding of unique customer configuration - materials and software used.
  • Awareness of customer's expertise, capability, and willingness to do self-maintenance.

NOTE:  
Many of these qualifications can be learned on the job.  We will provide training for those who do not yet have these skills but retain the aptitude and willingness to learn.  Training will also take place with the manufacturers and vendors.  We are looking for auto technicians, HVAC technicians, and appliance technicians who may want to take the next step in their careers.
